Air Fryer Grilled Cheese with Apples and Bacon

 

 

Ingredients:

  • 4 slices of bread (whole-grain, sourdough, whole wheat, or your favorite)
  • 4 slices of cheddar cheese (or any melting cheese of your choice)
  • 4 slices of mozzarella cheese
  • 4 slices of cooked bacon
  • 1 apple, thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoons of butter, softened
  • 1 tablespoon of honey (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the Air Fryer:
    • Set your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) and let it preheat for about 3-5 minutes.
  2. Prepare the Bread:
    • Spread a thin layer of softened butter on one side of each bread slice.
  3. Assemble the Sandwiches:
    • Place two slices of bread, buttered side down, on a clean surface.
    • Layer each with a slice of cheese, followed by apple slices, cooked bacon, a drizzle of honey (if using), and another slice of cheese.
    • Top with the remaining bread slices, buttered side up.
  4. Air Fry the Sandwiches:
    • Carefully place the assembled sandwiches in the air fryer basket. Depending on the size of your air fryer, you may need to cook one sandwich at a time.
    • Air fry for 3-4 minutes, then flip the sandwiches using a spatula and air fry for another 3-4 minutes, or until the bread is golden brown and crispy and the cheese is melted.
  5. Serve:
    • Remove the grilled cheese sandwiches from the air fryer.
    • Allow them to cool for a minute or two, then cut in half and serve warm.

  • Add-ons: Add a handful of arugula or spinach for a fresh touch.
